Dancing Sword Spiritsby ~QueenOfCuttlefishes

God good finally
First off I want to apologize to ~HeartStringsXIII for making her wait to long!

Second, asfdsakljhfjkashf goooooooood I need so much more practice on anatomy and shading and everything… Geh.. Like, I’m proud I tried something new. But I’m disappointed din myself because I think it probably could have turned out better. Like, Ghirahim’s anatomy, something just aren’t right and it irks me. I think it’s his hips and stiff legs. I also think his legs might be way too long.. Jesus.. I at least tried much more with the shading this time. I tried a new style of shading, and thanks a lot to *ZanaOzie for givin’ me some nice tips of how to make it work! For some period of time I have been using different tones of blue-gray and made the layer multiplied. It gives a similar effect. But for this image I used several tones of the different colours and smudged them together to make the shades soft. You can also see this picture doesn’t have any line art. It was all drawn on top of a sketch.

~HeartStringsXIII won two contests I had some months ago and she won 3 fully coloured pictures. This is the second one. She wanted a picture of Ghirahim and her character Eva to dance flamenco. Now I’m not a dancer, and I admit I did not catch the dance itself very well. I googled up some images and saw many images where the female would hold her hands up in the air and so. I tried to give Ghirahim a more moving pose. But no matter how many times I tried it always fucked up. So I decided to draw a moment of the dance when the male stands still with his legs together like that and keeps a hand on the female while she does some kind of spin or something alike.
Huh, I really beat myself up here.. I guess I simply like to point out my flaws too make it more obvious to myself what I need more work on.
Because this way of making pictures are a bit new to me (have only done one or two previously), don’t expect me to begin doing these too often very soon. I will try to make more images like this. But they might come with a bit of time between each other. I feel comfortable with lineart, but my inked linearts are so horrible (maybe not zoomed out, but zoomed in they’re nothing but horrible). I hope to get my hand son a tablet, because I think it would be easier to make digital line arts with a tablet pen than with a glitchy mouse.

You're right, I think what's wrong with Ghirahim is his stiff legs. They're too tightly pressed together and also I think it looks like he's leaning backwards a bit, almost like he's gonna fall backwards, because I think his feet are a bit too far ahead of his face. His heels should be more "in line" with the back of his head, like if you drew a line from the back of his head and downwards, it should connect with his heels. I think?
And maybe the legs are too long too, like you said. Or maybe it's his upper body, perhaps it's too short?
I'm no expert of the human body though, people sometimes blame me for anathomical errors and stuff, too ...

Otherwise, great work, awesome coloring <3
Sorry for the critique, if you don't like getting critiqued then I'm sorry. Even if there are errors with this picture, it's nothing huge

Aahhh yes, i had completely forgot that trick with the line! I should think about that next time. Thank you! And yes, his legs are too short. I've noticed it more and more that human's legs aren't as super long as I trouhgt they were. Some can haver really short legs (huh, like me).

And don't worry about critiguing me at all! I'm glad you did it! I've even written it on my page, under my gallery, that I happily take criticism! So if you find any problem(s) in my pictures or got any nice tips just tell me!

Ok, nice! Oh, I hadn't seen that. Myself I accept criticism too, but usually when I'm really proud of a picture and can't see any errors with it, and then somebody critizises me, it makes me a bit disappointed because at that point I'm already finished with the picture and it's too late to change it ... I already put it up on dA and all ... xD I mostly do traditional art, so that's harder to change than digital art.

But afterwards, when I get over the disappointment, I'm thankful for the critique because when I draw my next picture it gets even better than the previous one. I learnt something new that helps me get better ^^

Well I don't have any one to critizise me while I'm making the picture. So I wait for it til lwhen I'm done, and hopefully I'll be able to fix the problem in the next picture I draw.
And yes, critesism can help you learn new stuff!
